PERFORMANCE COMPETITION 2008

RULES

1. The completed card must be sent to - Debbie Pickering, 50 Chantry Road, Gosport, Hamphire, PO12 4NF as soon as possible after 31st November and no later than 20th December 2008.
2. The Competition will run from 1st March to 30th November 2008 inclusive.  The best points total from a maximum of 25 shows, 2 classes per show will go forward to the final results (championships are allowed in addition to the 2 class per show allocation, as they are part of the original class).  Multiple day shows can count as 1 show per day.
3. An official signature must be obtained, either the judge, Show Secretary or her/his assistant of each show, District Commissioner or Secretary of any Pony Club competition or the Organiser of an event or a SCWPCA committee member.  Random checks of results will be carried out against the published results.
4. The entry fee of £3.00 per pony entered must accompany the entry form.  Entries will only be accepted from members who have a fully paid subscription for the full period of the competition.
5. All ponies must be owned by members of the Association and must be registered in the Stud Books, the Appendix or the Part-Bred Register of The Welsh Pony and Cob Society.  Registration numbers and breeding must be entered on the entry form.  Although it is encouraged it is not mandatory for riders/drivers to be members.
6. If a pony entered in the competition changes ownership during the year, points earned may be transferred to the new owner ONLY if they are or become members of the Association.
7. The Competition is open to stallions, mares and geldings of four years old and over.
8. In hand, best rider, best turned out classes and gymkhana events are NOT eligible.  The exact description of the class in which the pony competed must be given, it is not sufficient to write “showing/driving” etc.

   Supreme Champion = 50 points

   Reserve Supreme Champion = 40 points

** Sponsored/Long Distance Ride or Drives completed: 1 point per mile up to the first 5 miles and 2 points per mile thereafter.

** Riding for the Disabled sessions to carry 5 points per session and must include a signed note from the organiser with address and telephone number.

1. The competition will be divided into five sections A, B, C, D and Part-Bred.  Personalised Rosettes will be presented at the Annual General Meeting each year.  Every competitor gaining points will receive a rosette.  Special rosettes to the winners of each section and each discipline, eg Dressage, Show Jumping, Cross Country, Showing, Driving etc.
2. The date of birth must be given on the entry form for those under 16.  A special rosette is awarded to the youngest competitor.
