NFL brings back Skills Challenges

NFL brings back Skills Challenges

Hey there you sporty people, welcome back to my sporting/fitness blog. I hope you guys are all doing well and enjoying your 2017 so far. I am, especially after hearing the latest Pro Bowl news from the NFL. If any of you watched the NFL in the early 2000’s, you probably remember the Pro Bowl skills challenges. It used to be one of the biggest parts of the Pro Bowl, and the only part that was really worth watching. All aspects of the Pro Bowl that weren't a terrible football game were eventually scrapped, after a promising rookie tore some ligaments in his leg during the beach volleyball game. Finally, those challenges that so many people waited to watch are returning.

Players response to the new Pro Bowl format seems to be differ from player to player, as the Pro Bowl is no longer being held in Hawaii and instead in Florida meaning that players lose out on what used to be a vacation. However the added skills contests means that players can once again compete against each other to see who is the fastest, the strongest or who has the best hands in the league. The challenges this year will include Epic Pro Bowl Dodgeball which is normal dodgeball game, Power Relay course which is a 4 person relay race, Precision Passings where players will compete head to head to try and hit moving targets, and the coveted Best Hand contest, where quarterbacks and receivers from teams will try and complete as many passes as possible within a time limit. What do you think about the new Pro Bowl Skills Showdown? Would you rather have the Pro Bowl still in Hawaii, or have it set in Florida and keep the skills competition? Let me know in the comments, and I will see you guys next time!
